First Presbyterian Children’s Center is a Christian organization, summoned to serve the community by providing a stimulating nurturing and secure environment for children. We are regarded as one of the leading preschools in the area!

Opened in August 1996 the Children’s Center at First Presbyterian focuses on providing quality, developmentally appropriate childcare in a Christian setting, Our curriculum is theme based, with a vast array of opportunities for learning in centers, small groups and though exploration of our environment.  All activities are age appropriate and designed to help children experience the joy of learning, build friendships and increase self-esteem.

Facilities include low built book shelves and viewing windows in each classroom as well as a variety of “stages” for supervised activities. Our fully fenced playground to allows children to safely explore and play outdoors using a variety of equipment.

Staffed by highly qualified, experienced staff we maintain an adult to child ratio that exceeds State of Tennessee standards.

Our center has received a Three Star rating on the Star Quality ChildCare Program Report Card each year since 2001.

Our classes are 6 weeks – 1 year, 1 year – 18 months, 16 months – 2 years, 2 – 3 years, 3 -4 years, and 4 -5 years.

Enrollment Process:
The first step toward enrollment is to come by the Children’s Center for a tour of our facilities and to meet the staff and children.

During your visit, you will be given information about our program.  If you feel our program meets your needs and there is space available, you will be given an application and other paperwork to complete.

All registrants will be required to pay a $55.00 registration fee plus a $100.00 tuition deposit to secure the placement and $50.00 materials fee.  The deposit is refundable and will be applied to the child’s last week at the Center if proper notification of withdrawal is given.

All paperwork must be completed before the child’s first day of care. We ask that parents come in and visit with their child before he or she is left in our care for the first time.

We are pleased to be participants in the Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency voucher program (UETHDA).

The Children’s Center is open to all families and does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, gender, handicap or national origin.
