Children in Worship at FPC
First Presbyterian is committed to providing a nurturing environment that helps each child grow in spiritual awareness. The 11:00 a.m. service includes a Children’s Sermon, which we call “time with young disciples”. This is a dedicated time of worship that is tailored to children, featuring language and concepts they can understand. We believe that this helps to build the foundation for children as they grow in their faith and understanding of worship.
We have added a special place in the back of the Sanctuary just for kids. With the support of our session, we removed two pews and put tables and chairs for kids to do worship activities and worship with a little more space. All children are welcome to come and stay for the whole service. Keeping our kids in worship is important to us.
For the littlest disciples, we offer a nursery upstairs which offers a safe and fun environment for kids to be kids. All of our nursery workers and helpers pass a background check and we have at least one person certified in CPR/First Aid available.
