At First Presbyterian Church, we believe that worship is central to our lives as God’s people, and the heart of the life of the Church. It is a joy to gather each week to hear the story of God’s great love for us, and to renew our commitment to live as children of God and Christ’s disciples in the week ahead.
We have two services each Sunday, at 8:30 a.m. in the chapel and 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. The 10:30 a.m. service includes a children’s sermon, and musical leadership is provided by the chancel choir and accompanied by our organ. The liturgy is traditional, yet creative, and we sing hymns and spiritual songs from across the centuries. Some Sundays there is a combined worship service where all three groups meet together at one designated time.

The sacrament of communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month, and all who profess faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are welcome. Elders and Deacons deliver communion to our homebound church family on a regular basis, or upon request.

Church members wishing to present their children for the sacrament of baptism should call the church office and arrange to meet with the pastor.
Visitors are encouraged to come as they are. While services at First Presbyterian Church are traditional, the feeling is not overly formal. Members dress in whatever way feels comfortable for them: some still prefer ‘Sunday best’ while others prefer more casual dress.

Worship live stream update:
Out of an abundance of caution and to respect privacy, we will no longer stream the prayers of the people in worship. This change has been suggested from the required boundary training of the PCUSA to have a more secure online presence. This update is not in response to any situation that has happened, but it is a prevention step to help us be safer online.
During this part in worship the sound will be muted and you will see a screen with words that invite you to call the church with any prayer updates you have. The normal worship stream will continue after prayers are shared. If you watch online you will not need to do anything to watch as you normally do. If you are present in worship we do recommend to not share personal prayers without consent of the party. If you have any questions please contact Russ at church.
