Friends in Faith Class Starting New Series on August 15, 2021
“Great Prayer of Thanksgiving”
The Friends in Faith Sunday School Class will begin a new 6-week series on August 15th entitled “Great Prayer of Thanksgiving”. The Great Prayer of Thanksgiving is a central feature of the liturgy for the Lord’s Supper in Presbyterian and Reformed congregations. It is a major way for our congregation to praise God, proclaim the glorious mystery of salvation in Jesus Christ, and pray the Holy Spirit to be with our church. By realizing what each segment and line of the prayer means, our Christian faith is deepened, and our understanding grows.
The 6 sessions (discussions) are:
· Setting the Table
· Giving Thanks to God
· Remembering Jesus Christ
· Praying for the Holy Spirit
· Do This
· Extending the Feast
Each session (6-8 pages) is a stand-alone discussion so do not worry if you have to miss a Sunday.
So, whether you attend the 8:45 service or the 11:00 service our class encourages and invites you to join us in room #103 at 9:45 a.m.
