Second Harvest Food Bank FPC Member Volunteer Opportunity – December 2022

Second Harvest Food Bank workday comes early in December. Due to selecting a date before the last-minute Christmas crunch, we will gather at Second Harvest on Wednesday, December 7 with two options: morning between 10-noon, and afternoon between 1and 3pm. Each session is limited to 15 people, so check your calendars and let Bob Stoots know if you would like to work at one or both of these times. (Call or text 423-782-6280).

Second Harvest Food Bank FPC Member Volunteer Opportunities – November 2022

Please join us for another day of service at Second Harvest Food Bank. After two previous workdays, the group voted by large majority to continue this on a monthly basis. We also wanted to arrange a Saturday date for those who cannot participate during weekdays. So, we have two opportunities in November: 1) on Saturday, November 12 from 10am until noon, and 2) on Wednesday, November 16 from 1-3pm. Outreach Service Project at Second Harvest Food Bank – October 26, 2022

“Thanksgiving Project” is underway at Second Harvest Food Bank and First Presbyterian Church volunteers were there to help! Over 10,000 food boxes will be packed and delivered to qualified Northeast Tennessee families for a complete Thanksgiving meal. Along with the boxes, each recipient will receive a bag of fresh produce and a frozen turkey or chicken. National Recycling Day at Goodwill November 15, 2022

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15, 2022, and is designed for high school and college students age 16 plus to earn one to eight hours of community service while experiencing recycling and sustainability programs that support Goodwill’s Core Value #11: Recycle, Reduce, Reuse & Repurpose. Grace House Work Day – September 29, 2022

Be The Hands of Christ The Kingsport Homeless Ministry under the project management of C. FPC Donation to Grace House of Kingsport Homeless Ministries

Bobby Flowers, President of Kingsport Homeless Ministries, receives from FPC Outreach member Emily Pridemore a check for $17,000 for Grace House.  This facility on Sullivan Street will house homeless men and women overnight, provide a day center and also access to addiction and mental health counseling.  These funds will aid in the operation of Grace House.  As interior renovation takes place, there will be future opportunities for FPC members to clean ceiling tiles, replace carpet with new flooring and paint.…
